THIS IS WHAT MOUNTAIN BIKING DOWN THE STEEPEST WORLD CUP SKI COURSE LOOKS LIKE!

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MAX STOCKL DOWNHILL MOUNTAIN BIKING AT THE STEEPEST WORLD CUP SKI COURSE!

We all know Max Stöckl is a world speed record holder, so this time he’s gonna take the Hahnenkamm downhill course! The 43-year-old from Oberndorf is used to breaking speed records on a mountain bike and in this video, he rode down a 3312 metre piste with a spine-chilling 27% average gradient. After hitting a top speed of 167.6km/h in Chile’s Atacama desert last year, he was ready again to a take on a new challenge becasuse only professional skiers can make it down here.

In his interview,

“Racing down a straight icy hill is a totally different thing to anything else I have done. It definitely reached and exceeded my expectations. It was more fun than I thought it would be. Coming down the final shoot and jump was a great rush.” -Max Stockl

“The only thing that’s different is the screws on the bike and I got a mudguard made, I don’t ride downhill mountain bikes with special parts. It has to be a bike — not a motorbike without an engine.” – Max Stockl

There goes the Stockl at 1:18, he was about to jump the slope and whoah! He overcome it very well! Stockl added,
“When you are able to ride with your bike on a slope like that, it is a special honor for me and I wanted to offer the necessary respect by not ruining the work put in by the ski club by knocking out huge sections of fencing. The famous key sections were tough for me too, and I had to really battle to clear the gates.” – Max Stockl (Canadian Cycling Magazine, 2018)
